Tuan Haji Ramli began his career in 1989 as a Quantity Surveyor Assistant at Abdullah Atan Associates in Subang Jaya, Selangor. He then joined RME Sdn Bhd, a Class A Construction Contractor Company in Terengganu as a Quantity Surveyor in 1990. From 1994 to 2005, he joined Pembinaan ANZ Sdn Bhd, as a project manager.

Currently, Tuan Haji Ramli also sits as the Director of RBI Properties Sdn Bhd, Walibina Development Sdn Bhd, and Darul Iman Development Sdn Bhd.
